Lion cubs
Sighted on: 13.Aug.2024
Today was a red-letter day in Gham Dhao Lodge. Our guests, the Barberra family, got to see newly born lion cubs, estimated to be six days old, during the morning game drive. Not many are as lucky as the Barberra family. Lion cubs are born blind and only begin to open their eyes about a week after birth. The cubs are completely dependent on their mother, who moves them to different locations every few days to avoid detection by predators. Typically, these hiding spots are well-secluded, often dense thickets or rocky outcrops where the cubs can remain hidden.
