We saw an oryx during the evening game drive. The oryx is a genus of antelopes with long, straight horns, native to Africa. They are known for their ability to run at high speeds for extended periods. Oryx are highly adapted to arid, dry environments and can often be seen standing tall on barren sand dunes under the intense heat of the sun. They thrive in places with little vegetation, facing no difficulty in such conditions. However, during periods of abundant rainfall, when other species flourish, they face a struggle. As selective grazers, they find it challenging to locate suitable food, turning what is a paradise for others into a drought for them.
