During the morning game drive we spotted a black mamba about 30 metres away as it slowly descended from an acacia tree to the ground. Unlike the usual quick crossings we often see, this one moved slowly and gently, giving us a rare and fascinating moment to observe its behaviour.

One of the most memorable moments of the morning drive was encountering a graceful journey of giraffes moving through the lush green Kalahari vegetation. The guests admired the species’ calm presence and elegant movement among the shrubs.

They were pleasantly surprised to learn that giraffes thrive in the Kalahari environment, skillfully browsing on the abundant acacia and other hardy vegetation that flourish in this semi-arid landscape.

It was a special sighting that sparked curiosity and a deeper appreciation for how well wildlife adapts to the unique conditions of the Kalahari.

Playtime among the most social of cats—the lions. After hearing the pride calling through the night, the morning game drive delivered something special. In the golden Kalahari light, the cubs turned a tree into their playground, climbing and sparring with curiosity and growing strength.

Moments like these remind us that the wild is not only about survival, but also about learning, bonding, and play. This morning’s photography session with our guests was truly exceptional.
