This week, we explored the remarkable flowering plants that thrive in the harsh environment of the Kalahari. Flowers are often associated with delicacy, so it surprises many of our guests to see such vibrant blooms in this arid landscape. Among these resilient plants is the captivating Kalahari Morning Glory.

The Kalahari Morning Glory is native to southern Africa and grows in dry areas like the Kalahari Desert. It is a symbol of beauty and strength, thriving in places where life seems unlikely. Its broad, heart-shaped leaves feel soft and velvety, giving it a lush look even in the dry desert.

During the green season, guests are particularly fascinated by the ecological role these flowers play. By attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies, the Kalahari Morning Glory contributes to the biodiversity of this unique ecosystem, showcasing the intricate balance of life in the desert.
