Ground Agama

A new season brings with it the chance to encounter some of the Kalahari’s lesser-seen ground dwellers — creatures that are often overlooked on a typical game drive. For a guide, there’s always something new to discover.

This morning treated us to a particularly special sighting: a ground agama basking in the early sun. Guests were delighted to observe a relaxed yet vigilant male making the most of a mole rat mound right in the middle of the road, confidently holding his territory.
