Sighted on: 22.March.2026

The dominant male lion was heard calling as he moved toward the southern side of the reserve in the evening. When we located him, he was grooming himself, calmly observing our presence before rising to continue his patrol. We watched as he stretched, spray-marked, and paused to drink from a puddle on the road, before eventually disappearing back into the bush.

During the evening game drive, a Boomslang was seen basking quietly in the sun, perfectly disguised among the branches, looking just like a dry stick in the lower bush between a trumpet thorn and a horn pod creeper.

A solitary Red hartebeest bull was sighted after several months. The animal stood alert, partially concealed within the thickets, its long face and curved horns catching the Kalahari light—a memorable return of one of the plains’ most resilient antelope.
