White - backed Vulture
Sighted on: 12.November.2024
While most people enjoy watching large mammals, a game drive is not just about spotting animals; birdwatching can be just as captivating. Birdwatching requires a key technique: a 360° scan, carefully observing all directions, from ground level to the canopy. This morning, our guests had the chance to see a vulture—a large, buff-brown bird with pale underwing patches and a distinctive pale rump, best observed in flight. This vulture prefers open savannas and plains, breeding in loose colonies in tall trees, and remains Africa's most common vulture.
