Snail

Sighted on: 26.November.2025

During our morning game drive, as we were driving at our usual slow pace (ever mindful that the Kalahari can surprise us at any moment) guests spotted a snail perfectly camouflaged among the golden grasses. Everyone was delighted, capturing plenty of photographs of this rare and intriguing sighting.

Being a guide is always fascinating as each season in the Kalahari brings its own unique encounters. With the arrival of the rains, the Kalahari revealed its snails emerging after their long rest (a state of dormancy).
